A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive at the Priory, where you can relax and enjoy the homely atmosphere of this lovely 18th Century guest house.

The Priory is ideally located in one of the two market squares opposite the castle, home of Richard III. It has seven individual guest bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities and TV that lead onto the imposing Georgian staircase. There are 2 ensuite double bedrooms, 3 large ensuite family rooms which can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 children, 1 twin room and 1 single with private showerroom.

Overlooking the square there is a large comfortable lounge and an attractive dining room with stunning castle views where guests can enjoy a delicous breakfast. Every morning you can enjoy a full cooked Yorkshire breakfast, bacon muffin or Salmon and scrambled eggs while watching the race horses being led up to the gallops for their morning exercise

The ancient township of Middleham (described by many as the smallest town in Yorkshire) nestles on the hillside at the meeting of two of the most beautiful dales of Yorkshire.

It boasts many breathtaking views on the fell and lowland walks and forms the ideal base for an unforgettable visit to Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can visit Hardraw Force or Aysgarth Falls with its stunning waterfalls and scenery which provided the ideal setting for Kevin Costner's famous scene in the film, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

Alternatively, visit the Medieval Bolton Castle or our own Middleham Castle. For years, Middleham Castle was a stronghold of the Neville Family, especially Richard, Duke of Gloucester, later Richard III.

Watch Wensleydale cheese being made at Hawes, visit the famous Forbidden Corner or visit the nearby towns and villages of Leyburn, Reeth or Askrigg to mention just a few. They are located in some of the most spectacular scenery in the United Kingdom and featured heavily in the James Herriot, All Creatures Great and Small series.

Whatever you decide to do, the family run Middleham Priory guesthouse will provide you with the perfect base and help ensure you make your visit one to remember.
